The walk across America may be over, but this is just the beginning for Let's Talk!

Thank you!
Just like that 'Angelfish' is LIVE!!🙌🏼 .
So far, this music is the closest I've come to really capturing what if felt like out on the road.
.
If you have time, I recommend listening the whole way through. The music progresses from east to west, from Appalachia to the desert, from fear to freedom. Thanks for listening and for your support! LINK IN BIO!
Hello again my friends.

It’s been 7 months now since I finished my journey on foot from Washington DC to Los Angeles, CA. Your support during the walk was more than I could have asked for. Thank you again for listening and following along
.
I am writing to you today to announce some exciting news about the music I wrote while walking across the country
.
Just days before the beginning of the walk back in August 2016, I was given a gift: a small nylon string acoustic guitar. It fit inside Goose with one inch to spare and just like that it was a key piece of my trip. As I was swallowed up by the land and people of middle America, I started writing music in my tent. With no album in mind, I wrote to remember. I wrote to process what I was seeing and capture what was out there
.
As the months passed, my songs began to change. From more straightforward folk stories about bunkers, farmers and lovers, the music began to unfold in a different way, to look inward and express what I was feeling after months alone on the road. It was near the end of my journey when I decided I wanted to become a musician. I chose to dedicate myself to music for the freedom it gives me and for the hope and inspiration it can give others.
By the time I reached California, I had a ziplock bag filled with lyrics and melodies scratched on to pieces of folder paper. Songs were written on the back of campsite receipts and tied with string. Each one spoke to a different phase of my journey and my changing perspectives. Before I knew it, I had written an album. .
In the days and months following the walk, I split my time between writing a book about my journey and producing this album. I found a quiet place in northern Michigan, and began recording the songs myself. .
I am so excited to announce that on November 1st I will be releasing this debut album titled ‘Angelfish’ under my artist name C. Burrows. .
All of my songs came from a place of surrender and love and I am so thrilled to be able to share it with each of you. My hope is that this album will be the first of many. If you are interested in following along please visit my Facebook page (link)
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been absent from social media for a while. It felt right to put it down and rest in what was right in front of me😌
.
A month has passed now since I reached the ocean. Yet part of me still feels like I'm on the journey. For a while I thought things might change when I finished. Like I'd pop back to the old me. But Im realizing that nothing has changed. Every conversation is still an opportunity to experience real spontaneous connection. To speak honestly and listen deeply will always be a chance to taste the real flavors of life. The journey is with me now and it always will be. Still, I hope to go forward, to look ahead and embrace the change that will always be creeping around the corner☀️
.
Also, some very exciting news! First, the Let's Talk short documentary is well on its way and will be released in the coming months! The moments we filmed in the desert have been some of the most precious memories of my journey and soon I will be able to share them with you🎬
.
Finally, over the past month I've begun to write a book. A way to boil down this whole experience and share what I believe should be heard. I hope to explain my time on the road, to put it in one place and try to shine a light on what is at stake🚶
Walking through downtown LA was an incredible view into one of the most lively cities in the world. People from every culture and way of life in one place. When I lived in LA for a couple months in 2014 I was totally intimidated. But on this day it was magical. After my journey I had the confidence to go out and engage. To ask the street musician or the barista how they were. To learn from them about there lives in the city of Angels. I immediately learned how rich the culture is there🙌🏼
.
I've realized it's easy to live life just looking at things from a distance. But when we go out and engage with others we learn it's not so scary. In fact, it's invigorating and deeply fulfilling🌎
I couldn't leave Goose on the board walk. Dragging him through the sand wasn't easy but having the ocean right there made me forget about how hard it was😉
.
Today I'll be hanging out from noon to 6pm by Venice beach and would love to talk! If anyone is interested in stopping by, DM me and I'll let you know where I am 👊🏼
